Make your first page
Go to create content (left menu) and then select page.

You will now see a form consisting of a Title field and Body field, which you need to complete to create your first page.

Title
For the title, please enter “Welcome”.

Menu
Just below the title, you will see the words "Menu Settings". Click this and an additional form opens up. This form enables you to provide a link to the page from your top menu which is called the Primary Links menu.

Enter 'Home' for the Menu link title.
For Parent Item select Primary Links
For Weight, select -50. This will ensure that your Home link is the first link in your Primary Links menu.

Body
For the body I suggest you copy some demo text from another web site, and paste it into the body field. As a suggestion, click HERE and, by dragging the mouse, select and copy all of the text.

Now come back to your welcome page and paste the copied text into the body field of your first page and click "SUBMIT" at the bottom of the page.

Attached Images
You can now include an image on your page by clicking the Attached Images link. Using the Upload Image Field this enables you to browse to any image in your My Pictures folder and include it in your page. (If you have no images to upload, use Google images to find and download an appropriate image)

Publishing Options
The last thing you need to do before your page is created, is to make this page the "Home Page", so it's the first page people see when they visit your site. To to that, click Publishing Options, and tick the "Promoted to front page" option,

Now click "Save" at the bottom of your page.
